I have said it before...

And I will say it again. Turkey Hill sucks!

I stopped by today because I saw their sign in the front of the store advertising 3 gallons for $5. So I got my gas [even though it cost me more than my intended gas station] and went in to get my gallons of teas for work.

Well, they would not honor the price the had advertised clean across the front of their entire store! Simply because they were too lazy to take the signs down before started their new sale!

Boycott, I say, boycott!

They should have to honor the pricing they were advertising and not be so persnickety about something that was their own darned fault.

Reverse Auctions or Sweepstakes? Both [maybe]

Bid4Prizes.com is a unique twist to both the standard sweepstakes and the standard online auctions.

At a regular auction site, like eBay, you increase your bids to try to win. If you do win you have to pay the winning bid and shipping costs to get your goods. At Bid4Prizes.com it is the exact opposite. Instead of bidding higher you actually bid lower to win [yes, this is a game or so their site says]. Your low bid gets you the prize. Since it is more a sweepstakes than an auction you do not pay your low bid just the shipping costs and taxes.

If Bid4Prizes.com is for real this could be great fun. They appear to have some kick ass prizes to boot. But since we cannot verify the validity of their claims we recommend you do some research before you send them any money for prizes won. The whole thing could just be a new take on the YOU HAVE WON emails we all keep getting and most of us know are fakes.

Donate That Junker

Got a car you can't trade in on a new one? Has it been sitting in your yard so long the weeds now cover the for sale sign? Can't even give it away, huh? Well actually, you can simply donate your old car to a charity.

You might want to check out DonateCar.tv [Not sure why it is a .tv instead of .org since they are an organization and not a tv show. Isn't the internet fun?] By donating that old car you can help needy children get the things they need -- food, clothes, education. The little things that make life worth living. They need your help. And what is that rust bucket doing for you other than making it hard to mow your lawn?

So if you were thinking of recycling the car [you know calling a junk yard to haul it off], think twice. Most of these places charge you to take it away and then make more money off selling the parts. DonateCar.tv sells the parts to raise money for charity and they don't charge you to take away your car if the accept the vehicle for donation.

DonateCar.tv is a 501 (c)(3) charity so ask for a receipt for your taxes. Does the junk man do that for you? Nah, he's in it for himself. DonateCar.tv is in it for kids. So isn't it time to get that old car out of the drive and make your neighbors happy?

Subscription Nightmare

I just picked up my subscription from my local comic shop,Humungo Comics in Pottstown, PA and the order was wrong once again.

I cannot seem to get the items I have ordered from these people. And this has been going on from day one of my setting up this account.

First time was a book a had subscribed to just wasn't picked for the order. I had to walk over and pull the book off the shelf myself. This was for the book Vampire Bite Club, I was told they entered it into my subscription wrong and would fix it. Thank god the book ended and I did not need any more issues.

Then my subscription to DC's 52 stopped around issue 30. Again I was told it was a computer glitch. Well they must not have fixed the gitch because they completely missed week 35. And when I picked up a few weeks later the book was no longer available and I had to buy it from another source [paying more plus shiping].

I added the Anita Blake comic series to my subscription after buying the first issue. But for some reason the system would not enter the information. Finally, they got it into the computer by fudging the name [but I thought from earlier problems they had to have the name exactly as the distributor or they had problems with the books not being pulled [keep your fingers crossed this hasn't screwed up again since this].

Then I added the new Star Trek comics to my subscription. I did this WELL in advance of the first issue being released. Well their computer won't let them enter books into the subscriptions until after they come in. So again this was not pulled for me. I had to buy it else where. Plus I ordered two copies one of each cover. Issue three they only pulled one for me.

The highly anticipated return of Buffy to comics was advertised months in advance so I ordered two copies of each issue to be added to my order. I was told they would be added and they were definitely on order for me. Well, guess what? When I picked up my order no Buffy books at all! And this first printing sold out and could not be found anywhere!!! Boy was I pissed. So I sent them on a mission to get these for me and get me the first printing because that is what I ordered months before. Well they were only able to get me one first printing and one second printing. Okay my frined and I can live with that, but where was the second copy of issue 2? They only pulled one for me!

So with all these problems over the course of several months one would think they flag my account and pay closer attention to it. One would think.

I will keep you posted as to whether or not I stay with them. As well as if they are able to get me other items I have pre-ordered, like the upcoming DC 52 figures and the Star Klingon comics. They better not screw me over again!

When Will the Plumber Crack Fashion Go Out Of Fashion?

I am so sick and tired of seeing ass cracks! When will these horrible hip hugging pants go out of fashion?

Enough is enough already. No one wants to see your crack, even if you are a skinny little thing we still don't want to see it. It is not sexy people!

Every One Needs Insurance...Especially Idiots!

Okay here is the story thus far…we had a really, really bad snow storm a few months back and our car was stuck in the front of the house after being plowed in by the city. The snow quickly froze and became ice. Which in turn cause the car to get stuck. Good thing to because the idiots in my neighborhood do not know how to shovel their own spots and stay in them. So the good thing was we did not need to move the car so we did not.

Problem came when we finally had a chance to move the car and someone stole the spot! We had to park in the back behind the garage. Thought we were being slick, but no, nature had other plans for us. Everything that was on the roof of the garage slid off and landed on the roof of the car! Thank god for insurance! But which insurance was going to cover this? Car insurance or homeowners insurance? We did not know so we called both. Turns out the car insurance covered it. Good thing too as it cost almost $2500 to fix it.

So learn from our stupidity and don’t park under a sloping room if it is covered in snow and ice. But most importantly get yourself some insurance. If you don’t have any or are looking for a new provider head to the Insurance Portal Online for info and a quote on Auto Insurance, Homeowners [and renters] Insurance and even Life Insurance. There will be a time when you need it, believe me, even if you aren't an idiot.

Savage Car Dealerships Suck

Don't take you car into one of these dealerships to have any work done. They will charge you an arm and a leg to do it and not figure everything into the estimate to begin with then turn around and charge you more!

We took our car in to have the roof replaced because of damage [see post on insurance]. And were quoted with one price. They forgot they needed to take the window out and put it back. So the called to tell us the rubber strip around the back window would be an additional $300.

So at that time we asked for the toal price and we quoted 2002 and change. When we get there to pick up the car with the check filled out with the information the employee gave us we were shocked to hear a price $125 more than what we were given only two days before!

Well, I do believe people are allowed to make mistakes but when they are this big and we were already given a total price that is what we should have to pay. The mistake should be on the companies heads not ours.

Gold Cars Are Ugly

Okay, I know this is mostly just me [but really what isn't mostly just me]...

But gold cars are really ugly and even more so if they are not gold metallic paints. They are the same color as a wet cement highway. Who could think that was pretty?

Next time you are out driving in the rain check out a gold car and compare it to the wet cement median and see what I mean.

Where Has Customer Service Gone?

When did the concept of good customer service disappear? It seems to be MIA for quite some time now. This seems to be across the board from online retailers and mail order to just plain being rude to your face at brick and mortar stores.

Well the customer is not always right anymore and the employees for these companies just seem to eat that up by being short, rude and just plain unhelpful.

I hope that this trend starts to show in declining sales then maybe they will wake up and smell the coffee. And learn that it is time to establish a goo dworking relationship with your customers. If the customers go away so do the jobs. Keep that in mind.

They Did It To Me Again!

Okay, it is the middle of winter and I usually do not eat ice cream [too cold], but I had a hankering for some good butter brickle ice cream. The best flavor out there, I tell you!

I had not had this wonderful ice cream in a long time because it dropped off the face of the earth a while back. Then one glorious day last summer my sister pointed it out to me that Turkey Hill had it again. So I ran out and bought two gallons that day. And kept that up all summer long.

Now when I am finally in the mood I go to a store to buy some and cannot find it! :(

I learn they had killed the flavor again! My beloved butter brickle is no more.

One more thing I need to write to them about and I ask for your help again. Please go to http://www.turkeyhill.com/ and let them know you want the flavor back as well.

Chubby Chicks and Tight Clothing

What is wrong with all these girls? Any where from slightly chubby to down right fat are all trying to squeeze into hip hugging pants and skin tight baby doll tees! What the hell!?!

Come on girls your rolls are not attractive please cover them up!

I drive past both a college and a high school and a good two thirds of those girls trying to wear that stuff should not be. Maybe someone shouldbuy them all a mirror.

Google and their infinite wisdom....

Google has changed their algorythms again to remove any site they feel is an affiliate [in other words if you have a little content and affiliate links your site has now been wiped off the face of Google's world].

But yet they keep all those stupid pages that all they do is bring up search results. Which is more confusing then a breif page with actual content and affiliate links.

Maybe they should have done away with those first!

Verizon Cell Service Sucks

What is with Verizon and these commercials? They keep telling the public how good their service is yet EVERYONE I know with Verizon cell phones have the absolute worst service and poor connections.

Everytime my friend calls I get to hear, maybe, every third word she says. And when she is sitting still in one place the phone will go out of range and drop the call. How the heck does that work?

Time to leave that network and find a more reliable one. [Cheaper wouldn't hurt either].

Tailgaters Need to Crash and Burn!

Tailgating is illegal and unsafe. Yet there is always some stupid jerk who feels the need to ride your bumper. It does not matter that the speed limit is 65 mph and you are already going 75-80 mph AND passing all the traffic. They are in such a hurry [to get no where] that they must be no further away than 3 or 4 feet [sometimes closer] from your bumper.

These people must take a chill pill. Calm down. Count to 10. Something. Or better yet go back to high school drivers ed. and learn what following at a safe distance means!

Aggressive driving is taking over this country and if we can't control it now I see a Road Warrior type of future for us.

Truck Drivers Suck

Why do truck drivers have to pass another truck only to go slower than the speed limit and ALL the cars he cut off to pass the other guy?

It never fails this ALWAYS happens to me on my commute to work. Speed limt = 65. Traffic is moving along at 75 mph. Idiot truck driver decides he must pass the only slightly slower truck than himself. Making traffic slow down to 60 mph!

Stay in the right lane!

Stupid Turkey Hill

My favorite tea, the only thing I drink on a daily basis has been discontinued! They still make the horrid blueberry flavored oolong tea so why not still make the plain oolong. I had turned so many people on to this drink and now they kill it?

Everyone write in to them and tell them you want the oolong back! Not only back but in gallons too.

Their website is: http://www.turkeyhill.com

If you are like me a miss this drink let them know. And if you don't take a minute to email then just don't buy their brand next time you are at the store. Seems like money is what makes the world go round after all.

People Who Cannot Use Google Should Not Be Allowed to Use the Internet!

Anyone who cannot use Google shoul dnot be allowed to use the internet! The store I work in gets calls all the time thinking we are the manufacturer of this item or that item. Yes we come up on Google because we sell the item you are researching. If you go to the URL and don't see information about the site being the manufacturer then it is time to go back to Google and do your search again. And this time please look through a few more listings before getting angry because you called the wrong place.

Full Moons and Retail

I have been in retail for more than 30 years now and EVERY full moon the wackos come out of the woodwork!

It really is true that the moon affects people. We get some of the strangest calls and customers during the week prior to a few days after each full moon.

Please people if you are prone to being an idiot please stay out of stores during the full moon, the cashiers do not need to deal with you!

Greenies Dog Treats

Okay so Greenies dog treats might be dangerous to your dog, but then again so could their kibble. A dog is like a baby....everything goes in their mouths. If you don't watch them and make sure they are chewing their food properly you are going to wind up with a sick animal [or child].

These people who are trying to sue the makers of Greenies are just those type of people. Did they read the instructions? Did the give the dog the proper size dog treat? Did they watch the dog to make sure it did not bite off a piece that could choke it or lodge in their instestines? [I doubt it].

Out of the hundreds of thousands of dogs eating the treat only a handful of dogs got sick of died. I think that is true with any products [look at baby asprin....still on the market but it has killed children].

So if you are a good dog parent and don't feed your dog Greenies as a meal [or even every day as a treat] and keep a good eye on them to make sure they are eating / chewing the Greenies dog treats properly. You should not have a problem.

But I would have to venture a guess that due to this idiotic lawsuit that Greenies will either disappear completely or be remade to digest better. Mark my word. and watch www.dogtoys.com to see if they stop selling the product or if it disappears off their site as they have been selling them for years [that's where I buy them for my three dogs --- I even have an automatic monthly delivery set up with them so my dogs never run out!]
